Client: Universal Music
Brief: Director Melodie Roulaud’s personal project about a teenager who dips into her grandmother’s bible out of boredom and isolation causing an unexpected impact on her psyche that blurs the frontiers between dreams, reality and the paranormal, was picked up by Universal for production duo Solomon Grey’s single ‘Choir To The Wild’. Fitting with the bands orchestral sound and haunting vocals the short film charts a young girls discovery of faith and self belief.
Response: Working on a micro budget Melodie casted friends and family to star in and work on the short film which was shot in her home town of Le Mans in France. Working collaboratively with post production company Smoke & Mirrors to achieve the final grade the film has both a beautiful and melancholy feeling to it that perfectly fits as a music video for Solomon Grey.
Results: Awarded Vimeo’s Video of the Day upon its release the music video has been used by the band for promotion of there Selected Works album.
