Client: Bacardi

Brief: As part of Bacardi’s 150 year anniversary Bacardi Beginnings was set up as a music initiative to encourage new talent through a mentoring scheme with established musicians. In year two of the programme Anomalous Visuals were commissioned to work on visual elements for the three part series.

Response: For the first in the series of events, celebrated British hip hop act Rudimental and singer/songwriter Bipolar Sunshine were put together to write, record, mix, master and perform a brand new track all in just 24 hours. Played live for the first time at the Bacardi Beginnings event at the Vaults, London and streamed live via Radio 1 the 24 Hour A&R concept was both challenging and exciting. Working closely with collaborators Halo lighting Anomalous Visuals constructed an immersive set up of LED walls that surrounded the audience as well as backdropped the band on stage. Alongside the visual element dedicated lighting construction was configured to work in tangent to provide a further immersive experience. For the show itself we created a set of bespoke animated motion graphic videos while VJ controlling all of the live visuals across the LED wall set up throughout the show.

Results: The event itself was attended by 1400 people and was hugely successful across social media platforms Facebook and Twitter, receiving an additional 400+ pieces of independent coverage. Our visual creations also lead to involvement in further parts of the project.
